Mt. San Rafael Hospital is a 25-bed critical access facility serving the medical and surgical needs of the city of Trinidad, Colorado, and the surrounding areas. Our vision is to be a model for healthcare and wellness and the provider of choice for our community. Our staff of highly trained professionals works closely as a team to provide the highest quality healthcare services to our patients across their lifespan. Through the leadership of our Board of Trustees, Mt. San Rafael Hospital continues to make improvements to its facility, acquire new technology to improve services, and attract talented physicians to our community.

As part of our commitment to healthcare for our rural community, we completed the complex renovation of our existing hospital facility in 2021. The Facility Renovation Project included a modernization plan and was the first major construction project since the existing facility was built in 1972. The project encompassed approximately 31,000 square feet and replaced the majority of the patient care spaces at the hospital including a new building which now houses our Emergency Department, Imaging Center (Radiology), and Medical/Surgical Unit and Infusion Suite.
