Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center (SPRHC) has provided extensive health care and education resources to Southern Colorado for over twenty years. As Huerfano County’s largest employer, the health care and veterans living services provider is the region’s leader in hospital management, serving patients and families throughout a multiple-county market. As an innovative health resource, SPRHC offers a patient-centered medical system that includes a critical access hospital, two family clinics, women’s clinic, specialty clinic, surgical team, physical and occupational therapies, laboratory, imaging department and the beloved Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center. Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center is located in Southeastern Colorado, just three miles west of the rural City of Walsenburg, in Huerfano County. Under a contract with the State of Colorado, the health center is operated by the Huerfano County Hospital District, a Colorado Special District, directed by a five-member, county-elected Board of Directors.
